The Heart of The Father

WHY SHABBAT: THE WEEKLY SABBATH

The weekly Sabbath and annual Feasts of the LORD (YHVH) are statutes forever to
be
celebrated by Believers in Yeshua. The feasts of the LORD (YHVH) are wonderful
celebrations called His appointments for His people to meet with Him.

They are testimonials
that testify of Yeshua's (Jesus) work of redemption in His
first coming,
and are rehearsals for the Bride to prepare for her Bridegroom in
His second coming.

YHVH has His appointed times with His people.

Leviticus 23:2 (NKJV)
2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them:
The feasts of (YHVH) the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations,
these are My feasts.

These are YHVH’s set apart times in which Yeshua (Jesus) is pictured,
including the Shabbat.

The entire Master Plan of YHVH revolves around the Feasts of YHVH showing us His
Son, His Anointed One, our Messiah Yeshua.

We treasure the Appointed Times which all point to our Messiah and King.

The Sabbath is a time we reflect on our redemption from sin to Eternal life as a member
of YHVH's family, in His Son Yeshua. The Sabbath is not only the sign that YHVH is the
Creator, but it is also the sign that He is our Redeemer.

The Sabbath is a sign between YHVH and His people.

As we keep the Sabbath, we are reminded that we have been set apart.

We understand that rest is a weapon given by YHVH to use against the enemy.

The enemy hates it, because he wants you stressed and focused on anything but Yeshua.

The Sabbath was set apart at creation by the Father and Yeshua is Lord of the Sabbath.

Matthew 12:8 (NKJV)
8 For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

We follow the 4th Commandment and Yeshua's example by keeping the 7th day
separate.

The 4th commandment does not say “Remember a Sabbath Day”

The 4th commandment does not say “Remember any Sabbath Day”

Exodus 20:8 (NKJV)
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

REMEMBER: means to keep in mind, don't forget.

SABBATH: The seventh day, a day of rest.

TO KEEP IT HOLY: set apart, sanctified.

SO WHY DO WE REMEMBER THE SABBATH/SHABBAT?

TO HONOUR OUR FATHER WHO CREATED IT.

YHVH worked for six days and rested on the seventh, sanctifying the seventh day
because He rested from all His work that He had done in creation.

Genesis 2:2-3 (NKJV)
2 And on the seventh day (YHVH) God ended His work which He had done, and
He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

3 Then (YHVH) God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it..

Because in it, He rested from all His work which
(YHVH) God had created and made.

The Sabbath is a creational ordinance; because of this it is universal and perpetual,
AN ETERNAL DECREE.

The Sabbath is the 4th Commandment in the 10 Commandments.

Exodus 20:8 (NKJV) “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

The Sabbath is reaffirmed in the New Testament by Yeshua.

Yeshua affirms that the Sabbath:

Mark 2:27-28 (NKJV)
27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”

"There remains a Sabbath-rest for the people of YHVH; for anyone who enters YHVH’s
rest also rests from his own work, just as YHVH did from his.

Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest. Do no normal work.

The Sabbath is a holy/set apart day. We spend time with YHVH.

We gather for worship: The Sabbath is a holy convocation (public gathering).
We should meet and worship with others.

We show YHVH that we love, honor and respect His authority and His precious Son
Yeshua, our High Priest and King of Righteousness.

The Sabbath is a day of delight and rejoicing. This is a day which we focus our
thoughts to YHVH's thoughts and words.

We read the Word.

Have family time, invite friends over.

Enjoy YHVH’s creation.

The Sabbath is a day we appreciate what the Father has done.

It reminds us we are no longer slaves to the things of this world.

The Shabbat is a time of healing

 It's a time of prayer (Acts 16:13).

Shabbat is a time to do spiritual work by serving others.

It's a time to reason with others about spiritual principles and teach the Word of YHVH

Acts 17:2 (NKJV) 2 Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three
Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

Acts 18:4 & 11 (NKJV)
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews
and Greeks.
11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of (YHVH)
God among them.

It's a time for praise and singing.

The Sabbath is mentioned from Genesis to Revelation. Apostles did not do away
with the 7th day Sabbath.Yeshua said “the Sabbath was made for Man.
(not for religion)

Mark 2:27 (NKJV)
27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.

It is recorded in the book of Acts it is recorded 85 times that they kept the Shabbat.

Shabbat points us back to the Creator: Genesis 1-3

YHVH created rest: Genesis 2:2-3

It's the Fourth Commandment: Exodus 20:8

It's a symbol of our salvation: Exodus 31:17

We are to remember that YHVH delivered us from sin: Deuteronomy 5:15

It remains today: Hebrews 4:9

Yeshua is Lord of the Sabbath: Matthew 12:8

The Apostles kept the Sabbath -- Recorded 85 times in Acts

It's YHVH's seal of authority: Exodus 31:17

It's a blessing: Revelation 22:14

It will be kept forever: Isaiah 66:22-23

It's a lasting covenant: Exodus 31:16

The Sabbath is a delight. It belongs to the LORD. It's a day of rest, where we focus
on the LORD and what He has done.

Yeshua kept the same Sabbath day (Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset).

SHABBAT IS A GIFT OF YHVH TO BE RECEIVED AND IT IS A SHADOW OF
THE REST TO COME.

Hebrews 4:1-10 (NKJV)
4 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to
have come short of it.
2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard
did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
3 For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, They
shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And (YHVH)
God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;
5 and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”
6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached
did not enter because of disobedience.

7 again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has
been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of (YHVH) God.
10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as (YHVH) God
did from His.

Matthew 11:28-29 (NKJV)
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will
find rest for your souls.

SHABBAT IS HOLY AND SET APART FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD (YHVH).
